1760s Robe a la Francaise (2008)

I was so fortunate to have taken a workshop with Janea Whitacre of the Colonial Williamburg Foundation through Burnley and Trowbridge, where I draped this robe a la française.  This silk taffeta was a lucky find in the garment district–a cross of cornflower blue and goldenrod, which translates into various shades of putty, tan, and caramel depending on the light.
